1. Quality control of pipe cutting process
If the end face of the pipe cut is not perpendicular to the axis of the steel pipe or there are burrs at the cut, it will directly affect the sealing effect of the rubber ring. Therefore, attention should be paid to the quality management of the pipe cutting process.
Steel pipes should be cut by grinding wheel cutters or pipe cutters, and oxyacetylene is strictly prohibited. During the cutting process, the pipe should be fixed to avoid cross-section dislocation and increase of burrs due to pipe movement during the cutting process, which will affect the quality of the interface. After cutting, use sandpaper, file or grinder to remove burrs.
2, support (hanging) frame setting
Groove connection is different from traditional wiring, welding, or flange connection. Due to the gap between the groove and the pipe, when the pressure test or the medium pressure and temperature change, the pipe will produce axial displacement. The support (hanging) frame is set according to the conventional standard, which is easy to cause leakage of the immersed pipe and the joint at the joint. In engineering construction, due to insufficient number of supports (hangers) or unreasonable positions, pipeline leakage and deformation are more common. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the control of the pipe support (hanger).
3, rubber ring installation
The rubber ring is an important seal for grooved pipe fittings. When tightening the groove and pipe fittings, the bolts on both sides should be tightened alternately, and visually check whether the rubber sealing ring is wrinkled. If the rubber seal is wrinkled, replace it with a new one.
4. Quality control of groove rolling process
Roll grooving is an important process of rolling grooving. Rolling grooves too fast can easily damage the galvanized layer of the pipeline. Too deep or too shallow rolling grooves will cause the following adverse effects on the quality of the pipeline-interface:
(1) The pressure groove is too deep.
① It will cause deformation of the pipe end and bell mouth, and affect the quality of the interface installation.
② When the radial compression of the clamp is reduced, it is easy to cause leakage, and when the pipeline has a certain pressure, the steel pipe is also easy to emerge from the pipe fitting, causing a leakage accident.
③ The strength of the end of the steel pipe is reduced, and the galvanized layer of the pipe groove is damaged.
(2) The pressure groove is too shallow.
① When the clearance between the middle diameter of the clamp and the outer diameter of the steel pipe becomes larger, it exceeds the allowable range. The outside of the lip of the rubber ring is squeezed into the gap under the action of the medium pressure, which damages the rubber ring, reduces the elasticity of the rubber ring, and seriously affects the sealing performance. Therefore, during the rolling grooving process, the construction should be carried out in strict accordance with the operating regulations. The processing groove should be from shallow to deep, leaving space, and the speed should not be too fast. The slotting machine should be equipped with a limit device to prevent the slotting depth from exceeding the allowable deviation range.
② If the groove is too shallow, the compression margin of the fixture will decrease. When the medium pressure increases, the outer diameter of the rubber ring is easy to bulge, causing water leakage.
